Chex Party Mix
Nothing says holiday snaking quite like Chex Mix. I don't remember a holiday get together without a large bowl to snack on. I've had the opportunity to review a "Chex Holidays Recipes" gift pack that included two boxes of Chex and a $25 gift card from Kroger.
I used my cereal to make regular Chex Mix and plan on making Chex Muddy Buddies. The Muddy Buddies are soooo easy to make and are always a big hit. I have a friend who made them with soy butter and chocolate(not processed around nuts) for her peanut allergy family.
The Muddy Buddy recipe (from Chex box) is as follows:
9 C Chex cereal (any combo you want--I like corn :)
1 C semisweet choc. chips
1/2 C peanut butter
1/4 C butter or margarine
1 tsp vanilla
1 1/2 C powdered sugar
1. measure cereal into large bowl and set aside
2. in 1 qt microwaveable bowl, microwave choc. chips, peanut butter, and margarine on high 1 minute. Microwave additional 30 second increments until mixture can be stirred smooth. Add vanilla. Pour over cereal and stir until evenly coated. Place mixture into 2 gallon storage bag.
3. Add powdered sugar, then seal bag. Shake until well coated, then spread on waxed paper to cool. Store in airtight container in fridge.
What is your favorite Chex holiday recipe? Share it with me for a chance to win. This is a quick contest before Kroger's Chex specials are done. Leave me your favorite recipe and the first one wins.
